The inspiration for this design was based upon a Wild Flower Meadow print that Sammi wanted to recreate on her cakes. One late night, back in 2016 when Blushing Cook was founded, sitting with an iced blank canvas cake and a kitchen filled with prints taped to every wall for inspiration, she tried various methods but was unsatisfied.
Then remembering a few leftover edible flowers tucked into an old Pastry book, she realised that instead of trying to paint the flowers onto the cake, she could simply use what nature had already created so beautifully. Why try and emulate that? Delicately placing the pressed flowers onto the buttercream, the Wildflower meadow sprung to life.
Since designing this Pressed Flower Cake, it has become hugely popular with couples looking for something unique. We use Organic and edible flowers grown and hand picked in the heart of the Devonshire countryside. Each flower is hand pressed, reminiscent of childhood days spent plucking flowers from the garden and sitting them between pages of old books and waiting patiently. Each cake has it’s own organic and unique design as no single petal or flower will ever be the same.
